Fun on Lanimer’s Day & Father’s Day

Residents of Beechgrove Care Home embraced the vibrant spirit of community and celebration as they participated in the annual Lanimer's Day parade in Lanark. The event, a cherished local tradition, offered the residents a chance to reminisce about their past experiences in the parade and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

The parade, a colourful and lively procession through the streets of Lanark, brought back fond memories for many of the residents who had taken part in their youth. The joy was palpable as they watched the decorated houses and floats pass by, each one a testament to the community’s creativity and spirit.

Beechgrove Care Home itself joined in the festivities with a creative entry in the local competition for the best-dressed window. Embracing the grand prix theme, the staff and residents worked together to design a display that featured racing flags, model cars and checkered patterns, bringing a touch of speed and excitement to their home. The residents took great pride in their contribution and eagerly awaited the competition results.

For those who could not attend the parade, the celebration came to them with a special visit from the Lanimer's Queen. Her presence brought smiles and delight to the residents, who appreciated the chance to be part of the festivities despite their mobility limitations.

The festivities continued as Beechgrove Care Home celebrated Father's Day on Sunday, June 16th, with a brilliant 'Pint and Pie' event. This special occasion was dedicated to recognising and thanking all the fathers in the home. Residents enjoyed delicious pies and refreshing pints, sharing stories and laughter in a warm and familial atmosphere.
