Burns Night at Beechgrove

Staff and residents at Beechgrove were keen to celebrate the life of Robert Burns for Burns Night.

Each year, it's a tradition for our head chef to prepare the famous haggis, neeps, and tatties for residents' supper. This was washed down with some famous Irn-bru and shortbread for after. It was safe to say that this classic meal went down a treat!

Our residents enjoyed reading out Burns poems and stories. We enjoyed an after of live Scottish music from a regular visitor who is very talented at playing the accordion. Residents were highly impressed with the accordion and you could hear it throughout the whole building.

Residents enjoyed reminiscing about their favourite Robert Burn poems that they had remembered from their childhood. It's fascinating how Robert Burn's greatest works still maintain their powerful meaning in today's culture, 227 years after his death. All in all, it was a wonderful evening.

We look forward to celebrating upcoming international days such as Valentine's Day, Pancake Day and Easter so watch this space!
