A Sunny Barge Trip

In July, the wonderful ladies of Beechgrove Care Home enjoyed a boat trip to Ratho on a barge. The day consisted of beautiful views whilst enjoying the wonderful sunshine with tea, cakes, coffee and biscuits. The residents laughed the afternoon away reminiscing about different boat trips they had previously been on which led to many conversations. 

This is the resident's first trip since COVID-19 so our team made sure to go above and beyond to ensure it met all expectations. Our activities coordinators regularly plan day excursions in the local area of Lanark for the residents to explore and spend quality time with one another. Our residents often enjoy to do a dedicated ‘ladies’ or ‘mens’ day out, which helps to build and develop new relationships within our care home, of which the male residents at Beechgrove Care Home look forward to their upcoming trip soon. 

Our activities coordinators at Beechgrove Care Home in Lanark frequently organise many outdoor social events for our residents to enjoy in the local area. This allows our residents to enjoy engaging experiences in a group environment whilst increasing their confidence and independence levels. 

All of our activities are designed to interest and stimulate our residents whilst developing new social connections within the home. Whether our residents are looking to explore the local area of Lanark, or take part in our regular exercise sessions or singing classes, we offer something for everyone to ensure our residents are living a fulfilled and happy lifestyle.
