Getting Out and About in Lanark
Beechgrove is in a prominent position conveniently located within South Lanarkshire. Positioned on a quiet road within a leafy area surrounded by green fields and less than a 10-minute drive from Lanark town centre, our nursing home provides a relaxing setting where residents can spend their time doing whatever brings them the most joy while receiving a high standard of care and support.
Our Activities Team arranges regular visits to Lanark for residents to experience a fun-filled day out away from the home using our very own minibus, or utilising local public transport. Barons Haugh Nature Reserve provides a wonderful walking environment where visitors can see the wildlife that resides on the banks of the River Clyde. North Lanarkshire Heritage Centre is a museum with changing exhibitions suitable for all ages and great for families. The River Avon is a beautiful stretch of water that is a tributary of the River Clyde, where scenic walks can be enjoyed across its historic bridge.
Residents can visit Chatelherault Country Park, offering an interactive heritage exhibition, alongside beautiful 18th-century gardens with a herbaceous border and bowling green. Amazonia is a highly-recommended day out with an indoor tropical rainforest with over 70 different species to spot, and a nocturnal area for the South American animals that come out at night.
